Open Referral Period for Gifted and Talented Testing
Kindergarten - 12th Grade
August 21-September 5
Referral Information for Gifted and Talented Testing:
Garrison ISD provides testing for our gifted and talented program once each school year.
If you are interested in having your student assessed, please complete the Garrison ISD referral form. These forms are located in the campus offices and on the Garrison ISD website.
Please return these forms to Mrs. Pinckard.
Testing will take place between October 1 and December 31. The specific date will be determined by the campus.
Once your child has completed testing, the test results will be mailed home to the parents.
Transfer/New Students:
If your student has been previously identified as gifted and talented at their prior public school district, he/she is eligible to receive services in Garrison ISD if placement can be verified.
To verify placement, please contact Mrs. Pinckard, the Gifted and Talented Program Coordinator.
Mrs. Pinckard will contact the previous school district to request the appropriate records, data, and any other information relative to gifted and talented services.
The committee will review the information to determine placement in the Gifted and Talented Program.
If the student is eligible for gifted and talented services through Garrison ISD, the parents will be asked to complete a Parent Permission for Services form.
Once permission is granted, your student will begin receiving services.
GISD does not accept private school or counselor/physician evaluations
