GISD GT Referral for the 2023-24 school year is open from August 21-September 5. Referral forms can be found on the GISD website. These are to be filled out and returned to Mrs. Pinckard by the end of the day on September 5. Fall Sports Schedules





Due to the completion of some construction projects, student drop off and student pick up has changed since last year.
School will begin on August 16, 2023 at 7:45 AM. The first bell will ring at 7:40 AM and the tardy bell will ring at 7:45 AM. See the maps attached for pick up and drop off instructions.
Morning Drop Off will begin at 7:25 AM and the gate will be open until 7:45 AM. Do not leave students unattended. Students arriving tardy will enter through their campus office.
**Band students Only - 6:30 AM - 7 AM (The gate will require a code provided by the band director.)
Afternoon Pick Up will being at 3:10 PM for grades PK-5th.
When picking up PK-5th grade there will be a double line from West Cedar St. along Ave B. Please do not enter the pickup line from the side streets.
PK-5th grade should follow the red lines as shown.
Any person needing to pick up both an elementary student (PK-5) and secondary student (6-12) will need to follow the red line for (PK-5) and the orange line for (6-12).
6th -12th Grade will be released at 3:25PM each regular school day.

Congratulations to the Garrison Wind Symphony! Their recording has placed 2nd in the OPS East Area, and they are State bound!
The State round will be adjudicated at the Texas Bandmasters Association Conference on July 20, 2023.

The ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series is a program designed to annually select the most outstanding Class 1C, 2C/3C, 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A concert band programs in Texas each year. Today at the Regional level, the Garrison High School Wind Symphony advanced to the Area level by placing 3rd in the concert category!
The Wind Symphony placed 4th in the March category and 3rd and 4th in the Concert category.
Their recording in the concert category will advance to Area level of the competition which will be adjudicated in mid-June.
Congratulations to Mr. Oscar Denis and the Garrison High School Wind Symphony and best of luck at the Area level!

The Garrison High School Twirlers competed at theTexas State Solo and Ensemble Contest on Monday, May 29th. These ladies have made school history as they are bringing home a 1st division in the trio division for Garrison High School. Congratulations to Mrs. Chelsey Brewer and the Garrison High School Twirling Team!
